Bootskins and Windows 7
I'm just wondering if there are any plans to make a version of Bootskin that will be compatible with all versions of Windows 7? I really miss the ability to use that program.

There was a rumor about an animated one...or was that for the log on?
If there was it was just a rumor, from what I remember seeing was that due to how MS has changed security measure for boot up there will most likely never be a bootskin for Windows7.
Resource Hacker is a freeware utility to view, modify, rename, add, delete and extract resources in 32bit Windows executables and resource files (RES). It incorporates an internal resource script compiler and decompiler and works on Win95, Win98, WinME, WinNT, Win2000 and WinXP operating systems.
Viewing Resources: Cursor, Icon, Bitmap, GIF, AVI, and JPG resource images can be viewed. WAV and MIDI audio resources can be played. Menus, Dialogs, MessageTables, StringTables, Accelerators, Delphi Forms, and VersionInfo resources can be viewed as decompiled resource scripts. Menus and Dialogs can also be viewed as they would appear in a running application.
You may also want to check their site as well....
As the name and description might imply, you shouldn't mess with this unless you are really up on your prgramming. FYI - WC does not usually advocate messing with your registry or resource files.
Hmm I only know of one bootskin alternative for windows 7, and it's not much different from the original.
